Pastor David Cooke – Your Path To True Transformation
Romans 12: 1-2
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to
present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God,
which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you
may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable
and perfect.” (Romans 12:1–2, ESV)

• Connect with God and each other
• Connect the Bible to life
• Connect with the community through serving together

HOW TO READ THE BIBLE
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for
correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man (or woman) of God
may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17, ESV)
Ask yourselves the following questions as you read this week’s Bible passage…
What is God asking me to believe?
What is God asking me to do?
How is God preparing me to live more effectively for him?
For more tips and resources on what is in the Bible and how
to read it, visit www.thebibleproject.com. The Bible Project
creates free videos that show the Bible as a unified story that
leads to Jesus. To find out more about this ministry, check

THIS WEEK: “Your Path to True Transformation” 12:1-2
Understanding the impact our perspective and perception have on our behavior
is important. Misunderstandings and miscommunications can damage human
relationships and our relationship with God. The difference with God is that we
know any misunderstanding is on our part, not his.
1. Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, what particularly
caught your attention, encouraged, challenged or confused you?
2. What does Paul say is God’s part? What is our part? How does Psalm
145:14-19 help us understand this?
3. In your life, what does being a “living sacrifice” mean? What do you need to
die to in order to be alive to Christ?
4. What would help you see and live your life as an act of worship?
5. What does Paul say results from a life increasingly transformed by God’s
Spirit?
6. Where do you see Jesus? How can you invite him into whatever you’re
experiencing at the moment?
7. We are not meant to just let life happen to us, conforming rather than
transforming. We can intentionally allow God’s transforming power into our life.
What two things does Jesus say transforms us in the Mark 12:18-27 story?
8. This weekend Pastor David talked about being transformed by the KED
concept: Know – Experience – Do. Of those three dynamics, which do you most
live and operate from? Which do you most need to surrender to God’s perfect
will?
The way to new understanding is to be open to new knowledge and perspective
(Scripture) and new experience (the Power of God).
BEING “ON MISSION”
At Cold Springs Church we talk about being “on mission” together. As Jesus followers, we are called to “go.” Our new ministry: FORELDOCO is a prime expression of Cold Springs’ missional life. Please stay tuned for further updates via Cold
Springs Church Website, Facebook and Instagram.
At Cold Spring Church we talk about our “One More…” That person who may be
far from God, whom he has placed in our life to pray for, care for and share with.
In order to do so, you must know them, their needs and concerns. In short, we are
called to enter into relationship… to genuinely love.
What is something you will do this week to reach out to your “One More?”
