SETTING IT UP
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for
reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the
man (or woman) of God may be complete, equipped for every good
work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17, ESV)
Ask yourselves the following questions as you read this week’s
Bible passage…
What is God asking me to believe?
What is God asking me to do?
How is God preparing me to live more effectively for him?
THIS WEEK
1. Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, what
particularly caught your attention, encouraged, challenged or
confused you?
2. What are some of the popular views about Israel that are
prevalent in our world today?
3. Why is Paul so concerned and in anguish? How does that help
us see God’s heart for those who are far from him?
4. Read Romans 9:6-8. What is Paul trying to drive home about who
are children of God? Why would this be a paradigm shift for the
people he was writing to? For you?
5. What is your reaction to the statement “God is God. You (and I)
are not?” How do the verses in Romans 9:19-29 bring out these
different perspectives?
6. Paul always comes back to the difference that Jesus makes.
Read Romans 9:16 and 10:4. What does this say about the
difference Jesus makes?
TAKING IT HOME
At Cold Springs Church we talk about, “… living out of the overflow
of a Jesus-trusting life, resulting in restored and strengthened
families.”
7. Putting Jesus at the center is about having faith. How are you
showing you have faith in Jesus?
8. What have you learned about having faith in Jesus that would
be helpful to someone who is struggling to have faith?
9. Taking all that you have considered this week, what is the one
important thing for you to remember and put into action?
ON MISSION
At Cold Spring Church we talk about our “One More…” That person
who may be far from God, whom he has placed in our life to pray
for, care for and share with.
What will you do this week for that particular person in your life?
