HOW TO READ THE BIBLE
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching,
for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that
the man (or woman) of God may be complete, equipped for every
good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17, ESV)
Ask yourselves the following questions as you read this week’s
Bible passage…
What is God asking me to believe?
What is God asking me to do?
How is God preparing me to live more effectively for him?

read it, visit www.thebibleproject.com. The Bible
Project creates free videos that show the Bible as a

THIS WEEK: “Rising Above Bad People” Romans 12:17-21
In this week’s passage reminds us how counterintuitive the Jesustrusting life can be.
1. Looking back at your notes from this week’s message, what
particularly caught your attention, encouraged, challenged or
confused you?
2. What about this week’s message led you towards Jesus? How
so?
3. How do the following passages support what Paul is saying in
this week’s passage? Matthew 5:39, Mark 9:50, and Proverbs
25:21-22
Read Deuteronomy 32:35 and Micah 6:8 and answer the following:
4. What is the difference between revenge and justice?
5. What roles do grace and humility play in pursuing peace?
TAKING IT HOME
All too often, we choose to give full vent to our rage and frustration
in the name of “not being able to take it any longer.” How much
more effort would we put into peacemaking if we saw things from
God’s perspective rather than our own?
Pastor David talked about Kingdom Living being a whole different
set of rules…
6. This weekend we heard about three areas of Kingdom Living:
living honorably, peaceably and radically. Of these three, which
comes most easily to you? Which most challenges you?
7. What obstacles do you face in dealing honorably, peaceably
and radically with dishonorable people?
8. What needs to happen for you to more fully provide for God’s
perspective towards Kingdom Living?
