Love Conquers: Hosanna!

Scripture: John 12:12–19

What does it truly mean to welcome Jesus as King?

This message centers on the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and reveals that surrendering to Him is the true pathway to wholeness. The crowds cried “Hosanna” because they sensed something missing in their lives and believed hope had finally arrived. Yet many expected a conquering political ruler, not a humble servant riding on a donkey.

The sermon highlights the tension between longing and misunderstanding—how people desired rescue but struggled to recognize the kind of King Jesus truly is. His entry fulfilled Scripture, demonstrated God’s higher ways, and invited people to exchange fear for trust. Even the disciples only fully understood these events after Jesus was glorified, reminding us that clarity often comes after obedience.

Finally, the message confronts listeners with a choice: to merely observe the signs or to let the Lord truly reign. While the Pharisees feared losing control, the crowds were drawn by resurrection power and living testimony. Jesus does not redefine us by our brokenness, but by the wholeness He offers. To welcome Him is to surrender control, embrace hope, and allow love to conquer from the inside out.
