Prayer Walk
What is prayer walking and why do we do it?
Prayer walking is the practice of praying on-site with insight. As we walk through neighborhoods, downtown Placerville, county offices, or school campuses, we are present with God and attentive to what He wants to do in these places.
- It is an act of intercession: asking God’s blessing, protection, and presence over people, institutions, and communities.
- It embodies Jesus’ call to “go” into the world (Matthew 28:19) and to pray for His kingdom
to come on earth as in heaven (Matthew 6:10). - It helps us see our community through God’s eyes and grow in love for the people around
us.

15 Scriptures for Prayer Walking
1. Numbers 6:24–26
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
2. Jeremiah 29:7
Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.
3. Micah 6:8
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
